This was a real good showing for us as a team. It has taken a while, but we're starting to gel. Not quite as many wins this weekend as we were hoping for, but a good team effort nonetheless.
We were quite dominant against the Riley B team, jumping out to a 13-0 lead on them. After an interesting inning, they closed on us, but we got a solid win, 13-6.
Game two against the Hurricane showed we can hang with some fantastic teams. They won, but I love how we didn't quite and fought back after an early deficit. Final score, 11-7.
Game three, and yep, we had the Hurricane again. We showed improvement, even though the game was immediately on the heels of the loss. Final score, 9-7.
Take a week off boys, we got a couple good tourneys in July!
Just ran across this blog - from the Hurricanes perspective, your team played very well against us. Very solid defensively. Good base of kids to build with going forward. I'll be in touch about trying to line up some games next season - maybe a round robin with some other teams down your way.
